Aberdeen woman on course for plus-size model prize


AN ABERDEEN woman is in the running for a plus-size model of the year award � just six months after starting her career. Claire Davidson, who goes by the name Umber Phoenix when modelling, decided to become a plus size model after having her first child, Evie Boyden, earlier this year. And the 21-year-old from Tillydrone has already made significant progress, having been nominated for Plus Size Model of 2014 in the Prestigious Awards International event. Since Claire started her first steps in the modelling world, the former Meldrum Academy pupil has twice been asked to work for plus-size brand Taking Shape as a catwalk model, and has featured four times in Twisted Online publications. Claire, who is a size 16, is also currently working on a photo shoot encouraging people to be proud of their body image. The awards will take place in Aberdeen on March 28 at the Park Inn Hotel in Aberdeen.
