Body part modelling can be a lucrative profession, with advertisers willing to pay thousands of pounds a day to feature perfect hands, legs and feet in their campaigns. Hand models are particularly sought after, and these specialist models can command up to Pound 5,000 a day for a television commercial or print campaign. Gemma Howorth (pictured above) has been a body part model for 12 years, with her hands featuring in more than 250 television commercials and other advertisements. She boasts an impressive CV, having worked as a hand double for Kate Moss (see video below), Lily Cole and Kylie Minogue. Mrs Howorth, who is 30 and from Surrey, started hand modelling at the age of 18 after being told by the mother of a school friend that she had great-looking hands. Because the mother was a photographer, she took professional shots of Mrs Howorth"s hands, which she then sent to a specialist agency. The agency took her on, and she has worked as a hand model ever since, earning as much as Pound 5,000 a day for a worldwide print or commercial campaign. Editorial shoots are less lucrative, Mrs Howorth said, paying around Pound 500 each time.
