Fashion model comes to St. Louis to speak on transgender issues ST. LOUIS - You"ve seen her in Macy"s catalogues, ads for Hanes, and in a John Legend video. Geena Rocero is a very successful model, a beauty pageant contestant in her native Philippines, and has even given a TED talk that"s been seen by millions. Geena was assigned male at birth, and had gender affirming surgery at 19. Earlier this year, she launched Gender Proud, an advocacy and awareness campaign to advance the rights of people who are transgender. Geena is a guest lecturer at Webster University on Wednesday night, November 19, at 7 p.m. in the Sunnen Lounge of the Webster University Center. The event is free and open to the public.
