Watchdog needed in modeling industry, which lacks


The career of a model is inherently transient. We move from market to market with the change of the fashion season. Because of this transient state, it is easy for our checks to fall through the cracks. Instead of acting as our career advocates, agencies use the fast-moving pace of fashion to steal from young workers. It is common for a model to return to a city, years later, and see one of her billboards - and she never saw a dime. But with today"s technologies, there are no longer the excuses of "address unknown." There must be accountability and regulation in the modeling industry, which has proven time and again that it will not regulate itself.
