Model Cassi van den Dungen has hit back at catwalk
Five years later,on the catwalk at Sydney Fashion Week, her gaunt face and skeletal legs drews gasps and concern for her health. Designer Alex Perry has today admitted it was a "serious lapse of judgement" to use the 21-year-old in his show. The debate over underweight models has now escalated beyond the catwalk with one of Australia"s leading swimwear brands hitting back against claims models are underfed. Swimwear label We Are Handsome dished out Connoisseur ice creams to their girls before they hit the catwalk in bikinis and racy full-piece swimming costumes. The models who strutted their stuff for swimwear labels showing at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia were visibly curvier than the rail-thin starved-looking girls used in Carla Zampatti and Alex Perry"s shows on Sunday and Monday." We Are Handsome captioned the Instagram picture of a young model biting a chocolate covered ice cream with a smirk on her face. Cassie van den Dungen,21,however spent the day posting pictures of uneaten food. It started off at 5am with pictures of untouched lollies, croissants,a banana and an energy drink. She later revealed a backstage spread uneaten which included fruit, nuts, yoghurt and chocolate-coated croissants.
