Bright future for catwalk kittens

Perhaps destined to follow in the footsteps of some of Perth"s top modelling exports such as Jessica Gomes, Nicole Trunfio and Gemma Ward, more fresh-faced local beauties recently signed with one of the State"s leading modelling agencies, Chadwick"s Perth. In what was a coup for the agency, all three modelling categories at this year"s WA Fashion Awards were won by Chadwick"s Perth models - Nicole Harrison ,Grady Wulff and Gabrielle Sullivan. And 16-year-old Paige Garvey has already had a taste of the modelling world since being named one of the six national finalists in last year"s Dolly model search - the same competition which launched the careers of Miranda Kerr and Jessica Hart. Now signed with Chadwick"s, Garvey told that modelling was a career she was considering once she left school. "Everything has been going really well, a lot of good opportunities have arrived". "I"m in my final year,in year 12, and I guess it"s a dream that my modelling will take off."I want to move to Sydney and live with family over there and then travel the world and maybe come back for uni later." Brunette stunner Georgie Miller,22,was named a top 60 contender in this year"s Miss Universe WA pageant, 15-year-old Mandurah-raised Ebony Hunter was hand-picked to be the face of burgeoning local fashion label Zhivago, while 16-year-old Craigie teenager Kya Pedrick has also caught the attention of the industry"s elite, having been one of seven WA finalists in the 2011 Girlfriend Model Search, which launched the career of modelling export Samantha Harris. Chadwick"s Perth agent Vanda Schijf described this year"s group of girls as having great potential. "I believe that this group of young models - whilst diverse, collectively - has the physical attributes,a current look and personalities to work successfully in this very competitive industry".
