For the past month, Page Six and Daily Mail have kept tabs on Naomi Campbell"s lavish holiday festivities, noting she"s been shuffling along on crutches and riding golf carts at her star-studded bashes. Considering models wear crazy heels and that, well, she never really misses a beat on the party circuit, we didn"t think much of it�until today, that is. According to the latest report in Page Six, Campbell got her mysterious leg injury after being attacked and robbed by a gang in Paris. Sources say the supe was hailing a cab alone in the street when a group of thugs looking to steal her jewelry knocked her over, tearing a ligament in her leg in the process. The gossip column said the reason why the attack hasn"t gone public until now was because the French police wanted things hush-hush while they hunted down the thugs. Sounds super-scary, no? Well, the sleuths over at the Daily Mail weren"t quite convinced by the breaking news and dug up some rather contradicting intel. After interviewing Paris police, the paper found there was absolutely no record of the attack. And a source from Campbell"s limp company said, "The thought of Naomi Campbell hailing a taxi in the street is laughable, let alone the idea that a gang would attack her. It all sounds absolutely bizarre," pointing out that the model is a very "demanding lady" and is rarely ever without an assistant by her side. Seems to be a valid point, but still, what happened to Campbell"s leg? Page Six asked the supe for her comments and she replied, "I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine."
